Club Mass was one of Gangnam’s foundational electronic venues, operating near Gangnam Station in the area south of the Han River that anchors Seoul’s commercial nightlife district. In its active years it described itself as the premier electronic house music club in Gangnam and held a reputation as one of the district’s most consistent rooms for international bookings, drawing a crowd that came specifically for the programming rather than the table-service economics that dominate the larger Gangnam megaclubs.
The venue ran two levels, hosted exhibitions and brand events alongside its club nights, and maintained a VIP lounge area alongside the primary dancefloor. The programming mixed local and international artists with a house and electronic lean that positioned it above the pure-EDM megaclub tier while remaining accessible to a mainstream Gangnam audience.
Club Mass has since closed. The space is now occupied by Club Local, which operates in its place at the same address. For historical context on the Gangnam electronic scene and the generation of venues that ran before the megaclub consolidation, Mass is a meaningful reference point.
Status: Closed. Replaced by Club Local at same location. Location was: Near Gangnam Station, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. RA: ra.co/clubs/55386 (archived).
