The Ego Test Has Moved
The Ego Test has moved. It is now The Profile, the second half of Deep Cuts, and it is not scored at all.
Why It Was Retired
The original ran on one ladder, from humble to legend, with the flattering answer visible while you were answering it. Anyone who wanted to look good could, and anyone who answered honestly was handed a label that was a joke about them. That is the one condition under which a self assessment stops working.
What Replaced It
The Profile runs on two axes instead. Self belief is how much room you take up. Self awareness is how accurately you see yourself. Four readings, none of them a punchline, across twenty four questions about fees, billing, soundchecks and criticism. Nothing is marked, which is the only reason it is worth asking.
It opens once you clear any tier of the knowledge test.
