What Kind of DJ Are You? · Result
The Function
You read a brief as well as a room, and clients book you again.
Designed rarity: about 7% of takers
Weddings, corporate year end parties, hotel bars, a brand launch in a Seongsu warehouse where nobody looks at the booth. You are often the most employed DJ in this quiz and the least written about. The client sends a list, a do not play list and a running order with speeches in it, and you tend to deliver all three to the minute, well dressed, on a system somebody else chose. You know the first dance is the job and the last hour is the reward.
You go out with a plan agreed in advance: timings, must plays, the do not play list and a backup for every key moment. You arrive early, check the system, find the coordinator and know where the speeches happen. You read the client as closely as the crowd, keep three generations happy at once, and are usually packed up and heading home before the after party starts.
Your strength
Any room, any brief, and the client wants you back.
Your blind spot
Years of playing to a brief can leave you unsure what you would play if nobody was asking.
Key takeaways
- You deliver the brief to the minute and clients book you again.
- You are the most employed DJ here, and your skill is real.

Rooms to try in Seoul
- Charles H., Gwanghwamun: A hotel bar with a brief and a dress code, where reading the client matters as much as reading the floor.
- Signiel Seoul ballrooms, Jamsil: Corporate year end season lives here, and the running order has speeches in it.
- A pop up in a Seongsu warehouse, Seongsu: Brand activations where the client is the audience, which is exactly your skill.
Rooms to try around the world
- Fairmont Royal York, Toronto: The ballroom where the brief is printed, the timeline is fixed and everything runs to the minute.
- A wedding venue in the Old Port, Montreal: Two hundred guests across three generations and a first dance that has to land exactly once.
- A hotel pool party, Las Vegas: The most commercial slot in the industry, where a rider is followed to the letter.
